Abstract
Description
Claims (12)
- 직선형 또는 면형의 광원과;상기 조명 광원으로부터 조사되는 빛이 입사되는 쐐기형(wedge-shape) 도광체와;상기 쐐기형 도광체로부터 비스듬히 또한 대략 평행하게 출사된 빛을 복수의 파장 영역의 빛으로 분리하는 파장 분리 수단과;상기 파장 분리 수단에 의해 분리되는 빛을 수광하여 소정의 서브 화소에 소정 파장 영역의 빛을 집광하는 집광 수단과;서브 화소마다 제어 가능한 액정층으로 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 투과형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 광원은 형광등인 것인 투과형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 집광 수단은 원통형 렌즈 어레이인 것인 투과형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제3항에 있어서, 상기 쐐기형 도광체는 출사면의 반대면에서 빛이 정반사하는 것인 투과형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제4항에 있어서, 상기 쐐기형 도광체는 0.1°내지 3°의 꼭지각(vertical angle)을 갖는 것인 투과형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제4항에 있어서, 상기 쐐기형 도광체는 0.3°내지 1°의 꼭지각을 갖는 것인 투과형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제4항에 있어서, 상기 쐐기형 도광체는 출사면의 반대면에 금속 표면경(metal reflector)을 구비하는 것인 투과형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제3항에 있어서, 상기 파장 분리 수단은 회절 격자인 것인 투과형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제8항에 있어서, 상기 회절 격자는 입사면에서 입사광의 일부가 정반사하는 것인 투과형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제8항에 있어서, 상기 회절 격자는 출사면이 톱니 형상을 갖고, 상기 톱니 형상에서 조명 광원에 대하여 먼 쪽의 변이 출사면의 수직 방향에 대하여 5°내지 20°의 각도를 이루는 것인 투과형 액청 표시 장치.
- 제8항에 있어서, 상기 회절 격자는 출사면이 톱니 형상을 갖고, 상기 톱니형상에서 조명 광원에 대하여 먼 쪽의 변이 출사면의 수직 방향에 대하여 10°내지 15°의 각도를 이루는 것인 투과형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제3항에 있어서, 상기 투과형 액정 표시 장치는 확산판이 더 배치되어 있는 것인 투과형 액정 표시 장치.
