Abstract

PURPOSE: Disclosed is a liquid crystal display panel having no irregularity in the display with a good yield without increasing the number of production processes. CONSTITUTION: The liquid crystal display device is produced by forming scanning lines, gate electrodes(3a), signal lines(7) and thin film transistors on a transparent first substrate, forming color filters(9R,9G,9B) as an upper layer all over the substrate including the aforementioned elements, forming an overcoat layer(10) on the color filters, and arranging pixel electrodes(11) and COM electrodes in the same layer on the overcoat layer. The obtained TFT substrate and a transparent second substrate are disposed facing each other, and a liquid crystal(13) is sealed between the substrates.
