Claims (5)
- (a) 제1 주표면을 지니며, 신장율이 약 2% 미만인 저신장성 백킹, 및(b) 상기 제1 주표면 상에 코팅된 연마층을 포함하는 코팅된 연마용 물품으로서,상기 연마층은 제1 주표면에 접착된 접촉면, 이의 대향면, 및 접촉면으로부터 대향면에 이르는 두께를 가지고, (i) 유기계 결합 시스템 및 (ii) 상기 결합 시스템에 접착된 다수개의 연마 응집체를 포함하며,상기 연마 응집체는 각각 (1) 무기 결합제 및 다수개의 연마 그레인을 포함하고, (2) 실질적으로 균일한 크기 및 모양을 가지며,상기 두께의 중심 지점에서 두께에 수직인 연마층의 단면은, 상기 중심 지점과 접촉면 사이 거리의 75%에 해당하는 두께를 따른 일 지점에서의 단면적과 실질적으로 동일한 연마 응집체의 총 단면적을 가지는 것이 특징인 코팅된 연마용 물품.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 응집체가 절두된 4면의 피라미드형 또는 입방체형인 것이 특징인 코팅된 연마용 물품.
- 제1항에 있어서, 다수개의 연마 그레인이 다이아몬드, 입방형 질화붕소 및 이들의 조합물로 구성된 군 중에서 선택된 초연마 그레인인 것이 특징인 코팅된 연마용 물품.
- (1) 제1항의 코팅된 연마용 물품을 제공하는 단계,(2) 상기 코팅된 연마용 물품을 가공물과 접촉시키는 단계, 및(3) 상기 코팅된 연마용 물품과 가공물을 서로에 대해 이동시키는 단계를 포함하는 것이 특징인, 락웰 "C" 경도가 25 이상인 단단한 가공물을 연마하는 방법.
- 제4항에 있어서, 코팅된 연마용 물품을 단단한 가공물과 접촉시키기 전에 상기 물품을 트루잉(truing) 처리함으로써 단단한 가공물을 정교하게 연마하는 것이 특징인 방법.
