Abstract

PURPOSE: A steering system for a vehicle is provided to control the steering position of a servo motor, and to adjust the forward direction of the vehicle by installing steering angle sensors in a steering wheel and the servo motor and comparing values from sensors. CONSTITUTION: A pinion(3) is installed in a servo motor(2), and a rack(5) is mounted in a steering shaft(4). The rack is operated by the pinion in turning a steering wheel(1), and the direction of a vehicle is changed. A steering angle sensor(6) is installed in the steering wheel, and a rotational angle sensor(7) is installed in the servo motor. Sensors are connected to a comparator of an electronic control unit(8), and the comparator is connected to a drive value deciding unit and a moving value command unit. A drive is connected to the servo motor. The steering position of the servo motor is controlled by comparing values from the sensors.
