Claims (10)
- 각각의 게이트선에 의하여 구동되는 일련의 행들과 각각의 소스선에 의하여 디스플레이에 전하를 공급하는 일련의 열들에 배열되는 액정 저장부를 가지는 액정 크리스탈 디스플레이의 구동회로에 있어서,예비주사신호에 응답하여, 당해 순간에는 선택되지 않는 적어도 하나의 보조 행의 게이트선과 선택되는 행의 게이트선을 동시에 활성된 후에, 상기 보조 행의 게이트선을 디스에이블시키는 게이트 구동신호들을 발생하는 게이트 구동부; 및상기 예비주사신호에 응답하여, 상기 보조 행의 게이트선과 상기 선택되는 게이트선이 동시에 활성되는 동안에는 상기 소스선으로의 데이터 공급을 차단한 후, 상기 보조 행의 게이트선이 디스에이블된 후에 상기 소스선으로 전하를 공급하는 소스 구동신호들을 발생하는 소스 구동부를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 저전력 구동회로.
- 제1 항에 있어서, 상기 게이트 구동부는소정의 행선택 신호와 상기 예비주사신호에 의하여, 당해 행이 지정될 때 활성하며, 적어도 하나의 다른 행이 지정될 때 일시적으로 활성한 후 다시 비활성하는 게이트 신호를 각각 출력하는 복수개의 게이팅(gating)부들을 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 저전력 구동회로.
- 제2 항에 있어서, 상기 게이팅부는상기 행선택 신호에 응답하여 상기 지정된 행의 게이트를 선택하고, 계속하여 지정되는 행의 어드레스를 증가시키는 제1 쉬프트부;상기 예비주사신호와 상기 제1 쉬프트부의 출력신호에 응답하여, 상기 제1 쉬프트부의 출력신호의 다음 어드레스의 행의 게이트를 선택한 후 다시 비활성화하는 제2 쉬프트부의 출력신호를 발생하는 제2 쉬프트부; 및상기 제1 쉬프트부의 출력신호와 상기 제2 쉬프트부의 출력신호를 입력신호로 하는 OR 게이트를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 저전력 구동회로.
- 제3 항에 있어서, 상기 게이팅부는상기 OR 게이트의 출력신호를 버퍼링하여 상기 게이트 신호를 출력하는 버퍼를 더 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 저전력 구동회로.
- 제1 항에 있어서, 상기 소스 구동부는상기 예비주사신호에 응답하여 상기 보조 행의 게이트선과 상기 선택되는 게이트선이 동시에 활성되는 동안에는 상기 소스선으로의 데이터 공급을 차단하고, 상기 보조 행의 게이트선이 디스에이블된 후에 상기 소스선을 통하여 상기 선택되는 게이트선에 연결되는 대응하는 각각의 상기 액정 저장부에 전하를 순환적으로 공급하는 복수개의 소싱(sourcing)부들을 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 저전력 구동회로.
- 제5 항에 있어서, 상기 소싱부는소정의 데이터를 선택하여 발생하는 데이터 발생부; 및상기 예비주사신호에 응답하여, 상기 보조 행의 게이트선과 상기 선택되는 게이트선이 동시에 활성되는 동안에는 상기 소스선으로의 상기 데이터 공급을 차단하고, 상기 보조 행의 게이트선이 디스에이블된 후에 대응하는 상기 소스선으로 상기 데이터를 공급하는 스위치를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 저전력 구동회로.
- 제6 항에 있어서, 상기 데이터 발생부는상기 데이터를 입력하여 래치하는 래치부;소정의 외부 선택신호에 응답하여 상기 래치부에 의하여 래치된 데이터를 선택하는 선택부; 및상기 선택부에 의하여 선택된 데이터를 증폭하는 증폭부를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 저전력 구동회로.
- 제1 항에 있어서, 상기 저전력 구동회로는외부 제어신호에 응답하여, 상기 예비주사신호를 발생하는 예비주사신호 발생부를 더 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 저전력 구동회로.
- 각각의 게이트선에 의하여 구동되는 일련의 행들과 각각의 소스선에 의하여 상기 디스플레이에 전하를 공급하는 일련의 열들에 배열되는 액정 저장부를 가지는 액정 크리스탈 디스플레이의 구동방법에 있어서,A) 상기 소스선으로의 전하의 공급을 차단하고, 선택되는 행의 게이트선과 보조 행의 게이트선을 일시적으로 모두 활성화하여, 상기 선택되는 행의 게이트선에 연결되는 저장부의 데이터와 상기 보조 행의 게이트선에 연결되는 저장부의 데이터를 상기 소스선을 통하여 전하 공유를 발생하는 단계;B) 상기 선택되는 행의 게이트선은 계속 활성화가 유지되면서, 상기 보조 행의 게이트선을 디스에이블하는 단계; 및C) 상기 선택되는 행의 게이트선에 연결되는 저장부에 전하를 공급하는 단계를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 저전력 구동방법.
- 제9 항에 있어서, 상기 A) 단계는A1) 상기 소스선으로의 전하의 공급을 차단하는 단계;A2) 상기 선택되는 행의 게이트선과 보조 행의 게이트선을 일시적으로 모두 활성화하는 단계; 및A3) 상기 선택되는 행의 게이트선에 연결되는 저장부의 데이터와 상기 보조 행의 게이트선에 연결되는 저장부의 데이터를 상기 소스선을 통하여 전하 공유를 발생하는 단계를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 저전력 구동방법.
