Abstract
Description
Claims (11)
- 一方の端面から他方の端面まで貫通する流体の流路となる複数のセルを区画形成する隔壁を備えた筒状のハニカム構造体であって、
それぞれの前記セルの前記流体の流れ方向に垂直な断面(セル断面)の面積が、前記セルの前記流れ方向における中心部近傍の所定範囲において略同一であるとともに、前記セルの前記流れ方向における少なくとも一方の端面側の端部において漸減又は漸増するように構成されたハニカム構造体。 - 所定の前記セルの一方の前記端面側の開口部と、残余の前記セルの他方の前記端面側の開口部とを封止する封止部材をさらに備えた請求項1に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 複数の前記セルを区画形成する前記隔壁の外周部分を覆う外壁をさらに備えた請求項1又は2に記載のハニカム構造体。
- それぞれの前記セルの前記セル断面の面積が、前記セルの前記流れ方向における両方の端面側の端部において漸減又は漸増するように構成された請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載されたハニカム構造体。
- 全ての前記セルの前記セル断面の面積が、少なくとも一方の前記端面側において漸増又は漸減するように構成された請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記少なくとも一方の端面側の端部における外径が、前記ハニカム構造体の中心部近傍の外径に比して±0.5%を超えて漸減又は漸増するように構成された請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記セル断面の面積が、前記ハニカム構造体の軸方向の長さの25%以内の長さの端部において漸減又は漸増するように構成された請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載のハニカム構造体。
- 成形材料を含む坏土をハニカム状に成形して、一方の端面から他方の端面まで貫通する流体の流路となる複数のセルが区画形成された筒状のハニカム成形体を得、得られたハニカム成形体を焼成してハニカム構成体を得るハニカム構造体の製造方法であって、
得られた前記ハニカム成形体の少なくとも一方の前記端面に、前記ハニカム成形体と焼成時における収縮率が異なる材料から構成された焼成用トチを配設し、前記焼成用トチを配設した状態で前記ハニカム成形体を焼成することにより、それぞれの前記セルの前記焼成用トチを配設した側の前記端面側の端部における前記流体の流れ方向に垂直な断面(セル断面)の面積を漸減又は漸増するように変形させて、それぞれの前記セルの前記セル断面の面積が、前記セルの前記流れ方向における中心部近傍の所定範囲において略同一であるとともに、前記セルの前記流れ方向における少なくとも一方の端面側の端部において漸減又は漸増するように構成されたハニカム構造体を得るハニカム構造体の製造方法。 - 前記ハニカム成形体の両方の前記端面に、前記ハニカム成形体と焼成時における収縮率が異なる材料から構成された前記焼成用トチを配設し、前記焼成用トチを配設した状態で前記ハニカム成形体を焼成する請求項8に記載のハニカム構造体の製造方法。
- 成形材料を含む坏土をハニカム状に成形して、一方の端面から他方の端面まで貫通する流体の流路となる複数のセルが区画形成された筒状のハニカム成形体を得、得られたハニカム成形体を焼成してハニカム構成体を得るハニカム構造体の製造方法であって、
所定の前記セルの一方の前記端面側の開口部分に、前記ハニカム成形体と焼成時における収縮率が異なる目封止部材を配設し、前記目封止部材を配設した状態で前記ハニカム成形体を焼成することにより、それぞれの前記セルの前記目封止部材を配設した側の前記端面側の端部における前記流体の流れ方向に垂直な断面(セル断面)の面積を漸減又は漸増するように変形させて、それぞれの前記セルの前記セル断面の面積が、前記セルの前記流れ方向における中心部近傍の所定範囲において略同一であるとともに、前記セルの前記流れ方向における少なくとも一方の端面側の端部において漸減又は漸増するように構成されたハニカム構造体を得るハニカム構造体の製造方法。 - 所定の前記セル以外の残余の前記セルの他方の前記端面側の開口部分にも、前記ハニカム成形体と焼成時における収縮率が異なる目封止部材を配設し、前記目封止部材を配設した状態で前記ハニカム成形体を焼成する請求項10に記載のハニカム構造体の製造方法。
