Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve sealing performance and to reject inferior product during manufacturing process by positioning the inner circumferential edge of an annular resin material in a mold, then applying vulcanization molding while suppressing elongation of the annular resin material, thereafter adhering a resilient rubber material thereto and cutting excessive portion. CONSTITUTION:An annular resin material 3 is arranged between upper and lower sections 8, 9, then secured through a bolt 18. Consequently, the inner circumferential edge of the annular resin is held between the upper and lower sections 8, 9 and secured. Thereafter, it is inserted between upper and lower molds 4, 5 and positioned in place. A mold 1 is operated to suppress elongation of the annular resin material 3 by means of a suppression zig 7, then a resilient rubber material 21 placed in the mold 1 is vulcanization molded and the resin material 3 is adhered to the lip sliding face 6 of the resilient rubber material 21. Finally, excessive portion of the annular resin material 3 and the resilient rubber material 21 is cut at the slant line portion 22. Consequently, lowering of sealing function at the lip portion is prevented, and an inferior oil seal can be rejected during manufacturing process.

A conventional oil seal manufacturing method will be explained with reference to FIG. Referring to FIG. 4, the mold cavity 2 of the mold
A pedestal 20 adjacent to the molding cavity 2 of the mold 1, on which a rubber-like elastic material is placed and heated in the previous manufacturing process.
An annular resin material 3 is placed on top. Place resin material 3 on pedestal 2
After placing it on the oil seal, the upper mold 4 and lower mold 5 of the mold l are closed to vulcanize and mold the rubber elastic material to improve the heat resistance, pressure resistance, and abrasion resistance of the oil seal. The resin material 34 is adapted to be adhered to the lip sliding surface 6.

By the way, when the annular resin material 3 is placed on the pedestal 2o of the mold l, the mold is heated to manufacture the oil seal in the previous step, and the resin material 3 thermally expands due to the heat. Since the outer peripheral edge extends in the radial direction, the resin material 3 adhered to the lip sliding surface may be displaced 17 from a predetermined position after molding. Furthermore, since the resin material 3 is not reliably positioned on the pedestal 20, the resin material 3 may shift from a predetermined position during molding. This causes a shift 17 (see FIG. 5) of the adhesive member, resulting in a problem of deterioration of physical properties such as heat resistance and pressure resistance of the lip portion. In particular, in the case of elongation due to thermal expansion, there is a tendency that the larger the diameter of the oil seal, the greater the deviation.

The present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and its purpose is to securely position and determine the resin material, and at the same time seal the lip portion by deforming and elongating the resin material due to thermal expansion and causing it to deviate from a predetermined position. To provide a method for manufacturing an oil seal that can prevent deterioration of function and eliminate defective oil seals.

[Means for Solving the Problems] According to the present invention, the above objects include a step of fixing the inner peripheral edge of the annular resin material with a pressing jig and positioning it at a predetermined position in a mold, and A step of vulcanizing and molding the rubber-like elastic material while suppressing the elongation of the material using a jig and bonding the annular resin material to the rubber-like elastic material; and a step of bonding the annular resin material and the rubber-like elastic material together. This is achieved by an oil seal manufacturing method that includes the step of cutting off the excess portion.

Next, the rubber-like elastic material is vulcanized and molded while the elongation of the annular resin material is suppressed using a jig, and the annular resin material is integrally bonded to the rubber-like elastic material. With the holding jig,
Since the resin material is accurately positioned and the radially inner inner edge is fixed, the resin material is prevented from thermally expanding, deforming, and extending radially outward during vulcanization molding. After that, the excess portions of the annular resin material and the rubber-like elastic material are cut off.

The present invention will be explained below based on illustrated embodiments. First, referring to FIG. 1, the holding jig 7 according to the present invention has an annular shape and consists of an upper portion 8 and a lower portion. Upper part 8
The tip has an inclined surface lO, and is adapted to come into contact with a moving surface 6 that lips and bites the rubber-like elastic material during molding of the rubber-like elastic material. A resin material 3, for example, a tetrafluoroethylene resin 3, is arranged between the upper part 8 and the lower part 9. A convex portion 13 and a concave portion 14 are provided on the lower surface 11 of the distal end of the upper portion 8 and the upper surface 12 of the distal end of the lower portion 9, respectively. Also, holes 1 are provided for passing fixing parts such as bolts to fix the upper part 8 and the lower part 9 with the resin material 3 in between.
5.16 is provided. A plurality of holes 15 and 16 are provided on the circumference of the annular holding jig 7. The uneven parts of the upper part 8 and the lower part 9 are the lower surface 11 and the upper surface 1.
The resin material 3 is formed so as to apply a radially inward tension to the resin material 3 compared to the case where the resin material 2 is flat.

According to the oil seal manufacturing apparatus configured in this way,
First, the annular resin material 3 is placed between the upper part 8 and the lower part 9 and fixed with bolts 18. As a result, the inner peripheral edge of the annular resin is sandwiched and fixed between the upper and lower parts. After that, the mold 1 is inserted and positioned at a predetermined position between the upper mold 4 and the lower mold 5 of the mold, and the mold 1 is operated to suppress the elongation of the annular resin material with the jig 7. The rubber elastic material 21 placed in advance in the mold 1 is vulcanized and molded, and the resin material 3 is adhered to the lip sliding surface 6 of the rubber-like elastic material 21. Finally, the excess portions of the annular resin material 3 and the rubber-like elastic material 21 are cut at the diagonal line portion 22. Also, it is preferable to make a plurality of holding jigs 7 and always fix the resin material 3 at room temperature, that is,
The jig that has been used once is not used in the next oil seal manufacturing process, and if another jig is used, the resin material can be fixed at room temperature at all times, and the thermal expansion during setting of the resin material 3 can be prevented. Can be prevented. FIG. 2 shows the oil seal before molding using the holding jig 7, and FIG. 3 shows the oil seal after molding.

According to the present invention, the process of fixing the inner peripheral edge of the annular resin material with a holding jig and positioning it at a predetermined position in the mold, and suppressing the elongation of the positioned annular resin material with the holding jig while holding the rubber-like elastic material Because the process involves vulcanization molding the material and bonding the annular resin material to the rubber-like elastic material, the resin material can be securely fixed in place, and the resin material is not heated during molding. It is possible to prevent the sealing function of the lip portion from deteriorating due to expansion or movement of the rubber and from being displaced from a predetermined position, thereby eliminating defective oil seals. Furthermore, if you use multiple holding jigs in sequence, you can set the resin material on the holding jigs in advance, which reduces the time it takes to set the resin material on the mold each time, increasing production efficiency. be able to.
