The pair of substrates thus formed are made to face each other with their electrode surfaces facing each other, a spacer is provided between the substrates to create a predetermined gap, the periphery is held with a heat seal, and a liquid crystal is sealed in the gap. For binding at °C, a fibrous rigid spacer or a particulate elastic spacer is used.

ものである。However, the thickness of the liquid crystal layer is usually about 5 to 15μ, but if this gap is not maintained uniformly, color unevenness will occur on the display surface, and if the liquid crystal display element is left at a low temperature below iQ℃, Air bubbles occur, resulting in poor display. Especially in liquid crystal display elements with a large display area, it is difficult to maintain uniform gaps, and air bubbles are significantly generated when left at low temperatures.

In addition, when a particulate elastic spacer was used, no air bubbles were generated when left at low temperatures, but the gap between the substrates was inferior to the gap with the rigid spacer, as it had larger irregularities.

: Sprayed at a ratio of 1:1. An epoxy sealant 6 is screen-printed on the other substrate 2, the two substrates are overlapped, and the sealant 3 is heated and baked at a moderate temperature of about 120 to 150°C, and heated to about 1K9/d. Apply pressure. In the liquid crystal display element produced by injecting liquid crystal 6 into the gap between the liquid crystal display substrates obtained in this way and sealing the liquid crystal 6 through the injection hole 6a formed by cutting out a part of the sealing material in the substrate 2. , the substrate gap becomes almost uniform,
When it was left at a low temperature of -30°C for about 48 hours, no bubbles were generated.

である。As explained above, the present invention introduces a completely new technical idea of inserting two types of spacers with different diameters into the gap between the substrates of a liquid crystal display element, thereby increasing the display area by 400 mm.
The gap between the large liquid crystal cells, which is larger than 1.5 mm, is uniform, and it is possible to prevent the formation of bubbles when left at low temperatures.
