Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a toe-out characteristic of rear wheels which attains a rapid turn ability while a stability is held in a high speed range, by laying lateral rods in front and rear of a rear wheel axle, and by making the operating characteristics of bushings fitted to both lateral rods, different from each other. CONSTITUTION:A rear wheel axle is attached to the rear ends of right and left arms 3 adapted to be journalled to a vehicle body, and is also supported by struts 4. There are provided lateral rods 5, 6 which are attached, at their one end 5a, 6b, to the axle 1 and at the other end 5a, 6a to the vehicle body. A bushing which acts when a load higher than a predetermined value is applied, is fitted to the attaching section of the lateral rod 5, and a bushing which does not act when a load higher than the predetermined value is applied, is fitted to the attaching section of the lateral rod 6. With this arrangement, when a lateral load which is lower than a predetermined value is applied to the rear wheels, the bushing on the lateral rod 6 changes greatly so that a toe-out characteristic may be obtained.
