When using these surfactants alone, although anionic surfactants have excellent cleaning and foaming power, they are all highly irritating to the skin, and nonionic surfactants are highly irritating to the skin. In the case of surfactants and amphoteric ionic surfactants, they are less irritating to the skin, but their cleaning power and foaming power are insufficient for dirt with heavy oil stains.

The present inventors focused on the above points and, as a result of intensive research, found that surfactants and surfactant compositions with strong protein denaturing power are highly irritating to the skin, while surfactants with low protein denaturing power It has been found that the irritation to the skin is significantly reduced in the surfactant composition.

Furthermore, it has been shown that if a specific anionic surfactant and a specific nonionic surfactant are combined, the protein denaturation rate will be synergistically reduced and skin irritation will be significantly reduced compared to when each agent is used alone. I found it. The present invention is based on this knowledge.

That is, the present invention provides a compound represented by the general formula (A) RCOOCH2CH2SO3M (A) (wherein R represents an alkyl group or alkenyl group having an average number of carbon atoms of 7 to 19, and M represents an alkali metal or an organic amine). The present invention provides a cleaning composition characterized by containing an isethionate-type anionic surfactant having an HLB of 10 to 16 and a nonionic surfactant having an HLB of 10 to 16.

A particularly preferable blending ratio of the active ingredients is the isethionate-type anionic surfactant represented by the general formula (A) and the HLB
The weight ratio of 9 to the nonionic surfactant having a ratio of 10 to 16 is in the range of 1 to 2:3, and the total of the two accounts for about 10 to 50 parts by weight of the total.

The present inventors have found that when an isethionate-type surfactant represented by the general formula (A) and a nonionic surfactant with an HLB of 10 to 16 are mixed at an appropriate mixing ratio, foaming properties, cleaning properties, etc. The surfactant ability of is not inferior to that of the anionic surfactant represented by the general formula (A) alone,
At the same time, it was discovered that protein denaturation power, ie, skin irritation, was significantly reduced to an extent that was at least as good as that of a nonionic surfactant alone. The phenomenon of this synergistic effect was considered to be due to the formation of mixed micelles based on measurements of critical micelle concentration, etc. If the nonionic surfactant used has an HLB of less than 10, the protein denaturation power will decrease, but perhaps because the HLB is low, the nonionic surfactant will act like an oil, resulting in foaming and foaming properties.
Cleanability is significantly poor.

Furthermore, when a nonionic surfactant with an HLB of 16 or more is used, the protein denaturation performance does not decrease much and the foaming property is also poor. As mentioned above, the HLB of the nonionic surfactant is preferably 10 to 16, but the preferred HLB is 11 to 14, which is particularly effective.
