Abstract

PURPOSE:To make possible the half cutting of a long-sized material having a plastic layer and metallic layer in the direction crossing the flow direction of said material by irradiating a laser to said direction during the transfer of the long-sized material. CONSTITUTION:The long-sized packaging material 1 is constituted, from the surface, of a polyester film 11, metallic layer 12 consisting of metallic foil, etc. and sealing layer 13. The material 1 is drawn out of the coil and is subjected to the irradiation and scanning of a laser beam into a spot or wire shape by a laser beam irradiating device 4, by which the film 11 is cut in the direction perpendicular to the flow direction. A half-cut line 2 is easily formed to the material 1 in the direction crossing the flow by the above-mentioned method.
