Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent missing or theft of a radio equipment and also to attain the request of paying of unpaid charge by stopping a reception function when a prescribed signal is received after a selective call signal is received and allowing the equipment to recognize it as sound or visual information. CONSTITUTION:A reception signal from an antenna 1 is demodulated after being amplified at a radio section 2, and converted into a waveform possible for being read by a decoder 4 by means of a waveform shaping circuit 3. The decoder 4 controlled by a clock signal from a crystal oscillator 10 compares the own call number written in advance in a P-ROM5 with a signal from the waveform shaping circuit 3 and applies a ring signal to an amplifier in order to inform the calling when the both are coincident, a speaker 7 is driven to generate the ring tone and to drive a liquid crystal display 8 thereby giving visual information to a possessor of the receiver. Further, a reset switch 9 is connected to the decoder 4 to conduct the stop of the ring tone and display stop or start or the like of the display device 8.

Conventionally, wireless selective calling receivers are small and portable, so they have the disadvantage of being easily lost and stolen. The wireless selective calling service is usually provided by the user paying a monthly usage fee to the service company. In this case, if the user fails to pay the usage fee, the base station Although it is possible to stop the service by deleting the user's subscriber number from the subscriber registration, the only way to notify the user of this is to contact the user by phone.

This signal consists of 21 bits of information (INF), 10 bits of check bit (CK) and 1 bit of even parity EP (Table 9.1) word 32 pits. (Information beep) One most significant digit (MSB) of INF is used to distinguish between selective call signal N and message signal, and the remaining two

4 bits) can be used to send up to 5 digits in words. Further, the message information is transmitted from the least significant digit (LSB), and when the message information is 6 to 10 digits, one more word is added and the message signal is transmitted in two words.

In addition, the lost code, which is a specific code used in this example,
The welding T code and the service stop code use a signal with the most significant digit (MSI3) of the subscriber number (information bit) INF being "no". In this case, the normal subscriber number is 20 bits. !Large capacity 1,048,575
Of these, only 1 to 999,999 are used, and the specific code uses a number of 1,000,000 or more, so that the specific code and the subscriber number can be clearly distinguished. Further, since the wireless selective calling receiver can receive a specific code only after receiving all of its own selective calling numbers, that is, all subscriber numbers, malfunctions due to specific codes are common.

After turning on the power and receiving a signal of its own selective calling number (101), the next one-word signal following this signal is received (102). Next, check whether there is an error in this received data (103), and if there is no error, jump directly to step 106, and if there is an error, check whether the error is only 1 bit (104).
If it is only 1 bit, perform 1 bit error correction (105

If If, the operation starts to receive the l word signal (107), and if +OL1, steps 201 to 2 are performed.
At step 07, the type of special code of the present invention is determined and processing is performed according to the type. This will be explained in detail later. After receiving the 1-word signal in step 107, in exactly the same manner as steps 103 to 106 described above, the received data is checked for errors (108), the error is only 1 bit (109), and the error is 1 bit. 1-bit error correction (110), and the MSB 1 bit of the received data -

If it is ol, only the data (calling number) received in step 102 is stored in the data memory 409 as a maximum 5-digit message (113). In this way, the data memory 4

Next, a description will be given of the enrollment when the M8Bt bit is Jl in step 106. First, it is checked whether the code received in step 102 is a lost code (step 102).
1), if it is a lost code, a two-word signal reception operation is performed (202), and the received information is used as a telephone number, and as shown in FIG. 4(b), "CALL" is sent.

If there are two or more bits within one word, the process may return to step 101. In step 201, if the code received in step 102 is not a lost code, then it is checked (204) whether it is a Boobis deactivation code and if it is a service deactivation code, the process shown in FIG. 4(c) is performed. As shown, the characters IPAY FEEII are displayed on the LCD 8 (205).This display continues until the power is turned off, and the receiving operation stops. In step 204, the code received in step 102 is a service stop code. If it is, it is checked whether there is a proverbial code at the top (2).
06), and if it is a stolen code, only a sound will be generated (20
7) This sound continues until the power is turned off and the reception operation stops.

Here, since the LCD 8 is a 7-segment display, the display is limited, but if a dot matrix display is used, it becomes possible to display all the letters of the alphabet, kanji, etc. in even more detail. The sound when a theft code is received is as follows:
The effect is enhanced by making the volume louder than the sound generated only when receiving the own selective call signal. In addition, recent wireless selective calling receivers are able to reduce current consumption, and some have large power switches, but in that case, the above display and sound will continue until the battery is removed, so in case of theft. is particularly effective.

According to the present invention, when a predetermined signal is received after receiving a selective call signal, the receiving function is stopped, and when a predetermined signal is received, the receiving function is stopped and a notification is sent to the effect that the receiving function has been stopped. It is effective in preventing loss and theft, and can also be used to claim unpaid usage fees.
