Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent decrease in separating ability of a column due to temperature difference between an eluate and the column, by adjusting the temperature of the eluate, which flows into the column, so that the temperature becomes approximately equal to the temperature of the column. CONSTITUTION:Methanol 9 in a container 7 and distilled water 10 in a container 8 are merged at a merging point (a) when liquid sending operations are performed with two pumps 2 at the same time. Both containers 7 and 8 are kept at room temperature. The methanol and the distilled water are mixed in a mixing device 3. An eluate, in which the methanol and the distilled water are mixed at a specified ratio, is obtained. At this time, the temperature of the eluate is increased with mixing heat. The eluate is cooled during the time is passes through a temperature adjusting means 1, which is provided in a flow path. The temperature becomes approximately the room temperature. A sample liquid is introduced through a sample introducing port 4 and reaches a column 5 together with the eluate, whose temperature becomes approximately room temperature. The sample liquid is separated and detected with a detector 6. Then the liquid is divided and caught with a fraction collector. Since the eluate is approximately kept at the room temperature and reaches a point of column input (b), there is no temperature difference from the column 5, which is kept at the room temperature. Therefore, the separating efficiency, which is provided in the column inherently, can be intactly obtained.
