Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable the efficient measurement of the concentration of ZnPP and PP in hemoglobin with small quantity of sample and by a simple operation, by providing a supply channel of a complete blood sample, a supply channel of water or a water solution, a channel of the mixture of them, etc. CONSTITUTION:A complete blood sample is introduced into a mixture channel 6 through a first supply channel 10 by the drive of a peristaltic pump 5, while distilled water is introduced into the channel 6 through a second supply channel 11, and the complete blood sample and the distilled water are mixed homogeneously in a mixing tube 6a and then introduced into a first flow cell 7. Erythrocytes are hemolyzed by this mixing, and hemoglobin and other components in them are eluted into a liquid phase. The drive of the pump 5 is stopped temporarily in the condition that said sample is introduced into the flow cell 7, and fluorescence measurement is conducted. Thereafter the hemolyzed sample is transferred to a second flow cell 8. In the course of this transfer, a sodium carbonate buffer liquid is introduced from a buffer channel 12 into a mixing tube 6b and mixed with the hemolyzed sample therein. In this way, the concentrations of ZnPP and PP corrected for the hemoglobin are measured conveniently and consecutively.
