Abstract
PURPOSE:To inhibit flocculation and to enhance efficiency of classification by adding a classification auxiliary formed with fluid having polarity to powder to be classified in a preliminary treating process and then classifying the powder in a main process. CONSTITUTION:Powder to be classified such as vitreous blast furnace slag is added with a classification auxiliary formed with fluid having polarity such as alcohols and a preliminary treating process is performed therefor. Then the powder subjected to the preliminary treating process is classified with a classifier such as an air classification system. When such classification auxiliary is used, formation of flocculent particles is inhibited and efficiency of classification is enhanced. The optimum loading of the classification auxiliary is about 0.10wt.%.
