Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce a composite metallic material which is distinctly segmented at the boundary between a front layer and inside layer by forming the tip of a nozzle which supplies the lower molten metal to a flared shape at the time of pouring the different molten metals above and below with the static magnetic field in a casting mold as a boundary. CONSTITUTION:The respectively different molten metals are poured from immersion nozzles 2, 3 into the molten metal pool 4 above and below the static magnetic field zone formed by a magnet 7 in the casting mold 1 as a boundary, by which the double-layered ingot consisting of the components varying in the front layer and the inside layer is formed. The tip part 3a of the immersion nozzle 3 for pouring the molten metal to the lower part of the molten metal pool 4 is expanded to the flared shape at this time. The inside area of the expanded tip part 3a is set at the area ratio of about 30-70% of the horizontal sectional area of the molten metal pool 4 to prevent the application of kinetic energy to the molten metal in the molten metal pool 4 and to gently maintain the boundary face of the upper and lower molten metals. The ingot having the two-layered structure distinctly segmented at the boundary is thereby obtd.
