Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable accurate trouble judgement by comparing the estimated value of throttle opening found on the basis of intake air quantity and engine speed with the actual value of the throttle opening, and when both values are different from each other, having it so judged that something is wrong with a throttle position senesor. CONSTITUTION:An ECI computer 11, performing fuel injection control over an engine E, inputs each output signal of respective sensors 12-17, 19, 22, 23, 26, 30 detecting an engine driving state and thereby outputs a fuel injection control signal or the like to an injector 27. In this case, the estimated value of throttle opening is determined on the basis of each output of an air flow sensor 23 and an engine speed sensor 13 upon referring to the specified map. This estimated value is compared with the actual value of the throttle opening detected by the throttle position sensor 26, and when these values are different from each other, it is judged that something is wrong with the throttle position sensor 26, and the judgement is indicated.
