Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a defect such as a display irregularity from being caused by a short circuit between terminal, a wire disconnection, and an increase in connection resistance by arranging a flexible tape in the gap of a display element on a seal part side between the terminal of a display element and the terminal of a printed board, and connecting it with a conductive adhesive. CONSTITUTION:The electrodes 2A and 2B of the display element are formed on their substrates 1A and 1B and the end of the substrate 2A on the substrate 1A is extended to outside the seal part to from a terminal for external connection; and a conductor 4 forms the terminal on the side of the printed board 3 and a layer 5 and a cover film 6 for improving adhesive strength are arranged. Then the flexible tape 8 which is thicker than the conductive adhesive supplied onto the terminal previously is arranged between the terminal of the display element on the seal part side and the terminal of the printed board 3 and pressed to make a conductive connection between both terminals with the conductive adhesive. Consequently, the all the terminals are pressed almost uniformly and connected to reduce a contrast defect, etc., due to the short circuit between the terminals, wire disconnection, and increase in connection resistance greatly.
