Abstract
PURPOSE:To achieve a rapid improvement in resolutions, by arranging a comparator A/D converter, an adder and the like. CONSTITUTION:D/A conveters DAC-1 and DAC-2 omit lower-order 4 bits from 16 bits of the respective DACs to divide 24 bits into high and low order 12 bits in application. By so doing, the DACs can secure a relative accuracy of 12 bits or more respectively. Finally, a direct accuracy of 24 bits can be obtained by correction utilizing a data table of a CPU along with a higher absolute accuracy. Outputs thus obtained of the DAC-1 and DAC-2 are added up with an adder A and inputted into a comparator CP as 24 bits of analog signal. The output of the adder A remains monotonic as long as the size of the highest order bit of the DAC-2 is not inverted. This enables the maintaining of a monotonic increment characteristic unless the partial potential resistance ratio more than doubles thereby achieving higher resolutions.
