Abstract

PURPOSE:To correctly output an a corresponding English word, for instance as much as possible by by dividing a KANA (Japanese syllabary) character into syllables and separating to syllable sets having the sets of plural syllables. CONSTITUTION:A transforming rule collating part 1 is provided with a syllable separating and processing mechanism 8 for separating the inputted KANA character to the syllables, dividing to the syllable sets having the sets of the plural syllables and obtaining the corresponding English syllable set, a syllable connecting and processing mechanism 10 for connecting the obtained English syllable set on a sounding and the syllable dictionary 9 of English. A dictionary retrieving part 2 indexes an English dictionary 3 on a candidate word 5 formed in the collating part 1 to obtain a correct candidate word 6 as the word. A priority check part 4 examines a priority according to the using frequency on this candidate word 6 to obtain transformed word 6 and output. According to this constitution, the word of a second national language corresponding to the inputted KANA character considered to be correct in the priority can be obtained.
