Abstract
PURPOSE:To keep the position of the irradiation of laser beams constant until laser beams reach thermal equilibrium from the start of the operation of a laser oscillator by composing a cathode side supporter of a first member holding a laser tube and having a high thermal expansion coefficient and a second member, one end of which is fixed to a package, the other end of which is coupled with the first member and which has a low thermal expansion coefficient. CONSTITUTION:An internal mirror type air-cooled argon laser tube 1, both ends of which have a pair of mirrors 6, 7 for an optical resonator, a package 2 housing the laser tube 1, and a pair of supporters 3, 4 supporting the laser tube 1 to the package 2 on the anode side and cathode side of the laser tube 1 are installed. The laser tube 1 is held by the cathode side supporter 4 in such an air-cooled argon laser oscillator. The cathode side supporter 4 is composed of a first member 16 having a high thermal expansion coefficient and a second member 17, one end of which is fastened to the laser-tube package 2, the other end of which is bonded with said member 16 and which has a low thermal expansion coefficient. When the laser tube 1 is operated, the difference of the conversion of the laser tube 1 by temperature difference between the anode side supporter 3 and the cathode side supporter 4 is offset by the differential thermal expansion of the supporters 3, 4.
