Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a solid temporary fixative which can shorten a time necessary for effecting temporary fixation, difficultly causes a base to curl or wrinkle, can be applied smooth and hardly causes a base or an adherend to be damaged, by adding a specified shaping agent to a specified emulsion and solidifying the mixture. CONSTITUTION:A solid temporary fixative is prepared by adding a higher fatty acid metal salt (e.g., Na salt of myristic or stearic acid) to an emulsion of an acrylic copolymer [preferably, a copolymer of a 4-12C (meth)acrylic ester (for decreasing Tg) with a short-chain acrylic ester or vinyl acetate (for increasing Tg)] and/or a rubber emulsion (e.g, SBR emulsion) to which a tackifier (e.g, rosin, terpene or coumarone) is added. This fixative can shorten a time necessary for effecting temporary fixation, difficultly causes a base such as paper to curl or wrinkle, and can be easily applied in a smooth and substantially uniform film. When the base is peeled from the adherend after the fixation, the base or the adherend is scarcely damaged.
