Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the critical current density and to make it possible to form a long size superconductive wire material easily by forming an intermediate layer by making elements of a mixture layer and elements of a coverage layer diffused each other, and then, applying a heat treatment to produce an oxide system superconductor. CONSTITUTION:While a tape-form base material 1 consisting of Ni and the like is provided, a coverage layer 2 made of pure copper and a mixture layer 3 are used to cover the surface of the base material 1 to form a composite A. The mixture layer 3 is formed of a mixture material including a Y compound powder and a Ba compound powder. Then, a heat treatment is applied to produce an intermediate layer 4. By this heat treatment, elements of the coverage layer 2 and elements of the mixture layer 3 are diffused each other to form the intermediate layer 4 at the border of the coverage layer 2 and the mixture layer 3. A heat treatment to heat and then to cool gradually is applied to produce a superconductive substance in the mixture layer 3 and in the intermediate layer 4, and a superconductive tape 6 in which a superconductive layer 5 is produced (superconductive wire material) is obtained.
