Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve strength characteristics, by blending an admixture in a mix prepared by mixing a slurry containing a fine powdery admixture with a wet aggregate and cement in a cast-in-place concrete. CONSTITUTION:Water is added to one or more of silica fume, fly ash or fine powdery blast furnace slag to prepare a slurry. A wet fine aggregate and cement are blended and kneaded with the resultant slurry. A coarse aggregate and water are subsequently added to the previously kneaded blend and post-kneaded. An admixture consisting of air-entraining (AE) agent and high-performance water-reducing agent are then blended in the above-mentioned mix.
