Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve electric charge acceptance characteristics and photosensitivity by incorporating a specified compound in a photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer formed on a conductive substrate contains at least one of each of the compounds represented by formulae I and II in which R<1> is H, alkyl, or the like; R<2> is H, aralkyl, or the like; R<3> is alkyl, aralkyl, or the like; Z is an N-containing heterocyclic group; and R<4> is alkyl, aryl, or the like. This photosensitive layer may be of a single layer or a laminate structure, and it can be adapted to both of the single layer type photosensitive body obtained by forming a single photoconductive layer on the conductive substrate or the functionally separated photosensitive body having the photosensitive layer composed of an electric charge generating layer and a charge transfer layer, thus permitting the obtained electrophotographic sensitive body to be improved in fundamental electrophotographic characteristics, such as photosensitivity, acceptance potential, and residual potential, and durability.
