Abstract
PURPOSE:To efficiently produce a molten stainless steel in a shot period of time by respectively specifying gas blowing and executing a reduction treatment and decarburization treatment at the time of executing decarburization blowing by reducing a Cr raw material by a C source. CONSTITUTION:Co or/and inert gas is blown from a bottom blowing tuyere during the smelting reduction period at the time of executing the decarburization blowing by reducing Cr ore by a carbonaceous material. The Co or inert gas is also blown from a side blowing tuyere 2 in such a manner that at least a part of the gas flow collides against the build-up molten metal part by the bottom blowing gas. O2 for decarburization is blown from a top blowing lance 3 into the molten metal and O2 for secondary combustion is blown into slag. The secondary combustion ratio is maintained at >=0.3 at this time. The slag is discharged after the end of the reduction treatment. O2 for decarburization diluted with the inert gas is then top blown from the top blowing lance 3 to the high-Cr molten iron formed in such a manner and the inert gas is blown thereto from the bottom blowing tuyere 2 to strongly stir the molten iron, by which the decarburization blowing is executed. The molten stainless steel is thereby produced at high productivity and low cost.
