Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an electrode excellent in the voltage flatness at the time of discharge and with high energy density by using a current collector material with the oxidizing and deoxidizing potential lower than the oxidizing potential of a polymer electrode active material. CONSTITUTION:In a battery using a polymer material as an electrode active material, a metal with the oxidizing and deoxidizing potential lower than the oxidizing potential of a polymer is used as a current collector material. Aluminum has an excellent property in particular for this metal, if polypyrrole is used as a positive electrode for polypyrrole/Al electrodes, for example, the oxidizing potential is -0.2V against SCE, aluminum is used as the current collector material, the oxidizing potential of aluminum is -1.9V to obtain a large potential difference, thus it is satisfactory as the current collector material. The electrode with high flatness of the discharge voltage under a load is thereby obtained.
