Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce an oxide superconductor having superior superconducting characteristics continuously with good efficiency by allowing specified metal parent materials obtd. by melting and evaporating with a plasma torch to react with an oxide obtd. from said evaporated metal parent material by the plasmatic reaction with each other. CONSTITUTION:Each metal element constituting an oxide superconductor as metal parent material 5, 5 is melted and evaporated with a plasma torch generating plasma flame 7 through a nozzle 2 wherein said plasma torch has an external cylinder 1 connected with a microwave power source 4 through a coaxial waveguide converter 3. On one hand, oxygen 12 as reactant gas supplied to a quartz tube 8 together with gaseous Ar 13 by a work coil 11 connected with a high frequency power source 10 is transformed to plasma. The above described evaporated material is transformed to oxide by this oxygen plasma flame 14 for the reaction, and allowed to react with each other. By this method, an oxide superconductor having superior superconducting characteristics is formed on a substrate 15.
