Abstract

PURPOSE:To utilize power effectively, and to reduce the capacity of a battery by mounting a switch changing over the quantity of charging depending upon the weather of the next day in a device in which the battery connected to a solar cell is charged from a system at midnight. CONSTITUTION:A solar cell 1 and a battery 2 are connected to load 6 and a system 7 through an inverter 3, and load 6 is supplied with electric power from the solar cell 1 during the time when the solar cell 1 power-generates while charging the battery 2 with excess power. When an output from the solar cell 1 lowers, the battery 2 is discharged, and load 6 is supplied with electric power. The inverter 3 is operated in a converter mode and the battery 2 is charged by the power of the system 7 at midnight. A preset switch 4 is set up to a controller 4 at that time, and the quantity of charging from the system 7 to the battery 2 is changed over depending upon the prediction of the weather of the next day.
