Abstract

PURPOSE:To miniaturize and lighten a transmission and improve a loading property to a vehicle by providing each shaft mutually in parallel, superposing an input shaft on an output shaft in the axial direction, and placing the output shaft below the input shaft. CONSTITUTION:A differential 40 is provided on a transmission TM2, and a ring gear 42 is installed on the outer periphery of the differential 40 and always engaged with an output gear 34 on an output shaft 12. Hence, power transmitted into the output shaft 12 is inputted into a differential case 41 through the output gear 34 and ring gear 42 and distributed to side-gear shafts 44a, 44b from side gears 43a, 43b respectively to be outputted to right and left front wheels. Due to such a structure, each shaft can be placed in parallel, greatly reducing shaft lengths while enabling the side-gear shafts 44a, 44b to be placed downward, to improve a loading property irrespective of the type of a vehicle.
