Abstract
PURPOSE:To effectively use a resource in a packet switching system, by providing a transmission path quality monitoring means, switchins a path to a bypassing path when a bypass request exists in a routing mechanism, and returning the path to the optimum path by a cancel request. CONSTITUTION:The number of times of generation of a non-response is monitored by a timer, and the timer is started up at a response queue time out t1 via an information link layer control mechanism, and a count value is updated, and when the number of times of the non-response exceeds (n) times within a prescribed time Ta1, the bypass request is issued to the routing mechanism 33 and a data link layer control mechanism, and is cancelled at Ta2>Ta1. The resident time of the resource is monitored at every Tb1 by the timer, and the resident time of a packet connected to a transmission queue corresponding to a line is investigated. When no normalization or release is performed after Tb2, the bypass request is issued to the routing mechanism and the data link layer control mechanism, and it is cancelled after Tb3. By such constitution, it is possible to use the resource in the packet switching system effectively.
