Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent mis-retraction of rear view mirror by providing a means for detecting locking operation from the outside of vehicle and controlling the rear view mirror to retracted position when locking operation is detected. CONSTITUTION:A door 2a is provided with a switch 20 for detecting that a knob is in locked position and a switch 22 for detecting closure of the door 2a. The switches 20, 22 and a steering wheel operation detecting switch 21 constitute a keyless lock operation detecting circuit 23, and when the knob is brought to locked position and the door is opened, output from an AND gate 27 is brought to 1. When locking operation is made by means of a key, a key locking operation detecting switch 28 is turned ON and a retraction driving circuit 35 is operated through gates 31, 34 similarly with the output from a detection circuit 23. Consequently, a motor 9 is driven and a rear view mirror 1 is retracted.
