Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the printing quality or the service life of a head from being lowered due to the abrasion of printing ends of wires, by impregnating with an ink comprising carbon black and having an insulation resistance not less than a specified value. CONSTITUTION:The abrasion of a wire is accelerated by corrosion of the metallic surface of the wire. To suppress the corrosion of the wire, the insulation resistance of an ink infiltrated in an ink ribbon is increased. Electricity is conveyed through the ink by aggregated carbon particles and a dye dissociated into ions. In view of this, the insulation resistance of the ink is set to be at least 100MOMEGA by appropriately selecting a dispersant in the case of using only carbon black as a coloring agent, or by appropriately selecting a dye and a solvent in addition to a dispersant in the case of jointly using carbon black and the dye, whereby a marked effect is produced on the prevention of the abrasion of the wires.
