Abstract

PURPOSE:To suppress deterioration of accelerated phosphorescence layer caused by moisture absorption by setting a degree of moisture permeability and a moisture permeability coefficient to be specified values, on a radiation image conversion panel having an accelerated phosphorescence layer and its protecting layer on a support body. CONSTITUTION:An accelerated phosphorescence layer 2 is formed on a support body 1 made of a ceramic plate such as an alumina ceramics, and a chemically strengthen glass plate and etc. The accelerated phosphorescence layer 2 is formed by vapor deposition or sputtering of an alkalihalide fluorescent material, for example. Thereafter, at least one layed protecting layer 3 is formed on the accelerated phosphorescence layer 2. And making the degree of moisture permeability of the protecting layer 3 based on the JIS Z-208 less than 60g/m<2>.24hr and the moisture permeability coefficient of the protecting layer 3 at temperature 80 deg.C more than 5 times that at 20 deg.C, a deterioration of the accelerated phosphorescence layer 2 by moisture absorption is suppressed and a long ranged use of the layer 2 in fairly good condition is enabled. And also a performance of the accelerated phosphorescence layer 2 is easily restored by installation of a heating layer H1 consisting of heaters at a back surface of the support body 1 facing the layer 2 and by heating and drying the layer 2 absorbing water.
