Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the accuracy of detection by comparing the actual detection signal from an absolute angle detector and a stored current off time detection signal when a power supply is turned on again and correcting a power supply off time count value to an actual count value corresponding to the actual absolute rotating angle.
CONSTITUTION: The detection signal from a resolver 4 and the count value by a reversible counter 8 are respectively stored in 1st and 2nd memories 9 and 10 when the power supply of the device is off. The actual detection signal from the resolver 4 and the power supply off time detection signal in the memory 9 are compared by a comparator 11 when the power supply is turned on again. The power supply off time count value in the memory 10 is then corrected to the actual count value corresponding to the actual absolute rotating angle by a corrector 12 according to the difference therebetween. The absolute rotating angle of a rotating member 1 is, therefore, exactly detected as the sum of (prescribed rotating angle) × (actual count value obtd. by the correction) and the actual detection signal from the resolver 4 after the power source is turned on again even if the member 1 turns during the time from the power source off before the power source is turned on again. Namely, the need for matching the origin at the time when the power source is turned on again is eliminated and the accuracy of the detection is improved.
