Abstract

PURPOSE:To permit no head diffusion to be given to adjoining heat generating elements and prevent deterioration in printed image quality by forming a border part of a heat generating element adjacent to a lead electrode, as a border, for application of a pulse voltage according to the thickness of the area of an effective part required for printing by the heat generating element. CONSTITUTION:Common lead electrodes and select lead electrodes are patternized on a glazed layer 2, and these common lead electrodes 15 and select lead electrodes 16 are alternately arranged at a prearranged interval. Heat generating elements are formed on a glassed layer 2, the common lead electrodes 15 and the select lead electrodes 16, and these heat generating elements 17 have a border part 17a, on a position corresponding to the common lead electrodes 16 and the select lead electrodes 16 as a border, with the thickness of the border part formed more than 30% less than the thickness of an effective part 17b required for printing. In addition, the width of the border part 17a is formed larger than that of the effective part 17b.
