Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the degradation in the visibility of display characters by blue leak, the fluctuation of polarization performance and the degradation in the polarization performance with lapse of time by incorporating aluminosilicate polymer into a hydrophilic high-polymer film, which is adsorbed and oriented with iodine, of an iodine polarizing film. CONSTITUTION:The aluminosilicate polymer is incorporated into the hydrophilic high-polymer film of the iodine polarizing film formed by adsorbing the iodine to the hydrophilic high-polymer film and orienting the same. The hydrophilic high-polymer film is exemplified by polyvinyl alcohol or the deriv. thereof and the film having 900-2,600 average degree of polymn. is preferably used. The aluminosilicate polymer is the generic term for natural ore constituted of alumina (Al2O3), silicic acid (SiO2) and water of crystallization (H2O). The effect is more remarkable if imogolite having the compsn. formula SiO2.Al2 O3.2-3H2O is used. The degradation in the visibility of the display characters by the blue leak, the fluctuation in the polarization performance and the degradation in the polarization performance with lapse of time are thereby prevented.
