Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of electric characteristics, such as sensitivity and electric chargeability of a photosensitive body even in the case of large film thickness of a protective layer, to enhance its protective effect of a photosensitive layer, and to obtain characteristics stabilized for a long period by incorporating a binder resin and halogenated quinones in the protective layer. CONSTITUTION:The protective layer 5 formed on the electrophotographic sensitive body contains the binder resin and the halogenated quinones. For example, the photosensitive body is formed by successively laminating on a conductive base material 1 the photosensitive layer 4 containing a charge transfer material and a charge generating material and a binder resin, and the protective layer 5, thus permitting deterioration of electric characteristics, such as sensitivity and electric chargeability, of the photosensitive body to be suppressed even increasing film thickness of the protective layer, the protective effect of the photosensitive layer to be enhanced, and stable photosensitivity and electric characteristics to be maintained for a long period.
