Abstract

PURPOSE:To correctly hold the center position of positive and reverse rotations and facilitate the handling of a steering mechanism by automatically looking both housings when a housing acting as the rotor of a device is at the center position of 1/2 positive and reverse rotations of the maximum possible rotating speed in relation to a housing acting as the stator. CONSTITUTION:The first and second housings 1, 2 are concentrically and relatively combined, and a flat cable 4 is spirally stored in a ring-shaped chamber 3 formed with both housings 1, 2. The housings 1, 2 are rotatively driven as the rotary section 8 of the steering mechanism 6 of a vehicle is rotated, with one of them acting as a stator and the other acting as a rotor. The housings 1, 2 ere locked each other at the center position of 1/2 positive and reverse rotations of the maximum possible rotating speed of the housing 2 on the rotor side by the signal transmitting device 17 of this mechanism 6 and fitted to a rotary section 7 by the steering shaft of the mechanism, the rotary section 8 is fitted to the rotary section 7 by the steering wheel of the mechanism 6, and both housings are automatically locked.
