Abstract
PURPOSE:To surely prevent the reversing of a pump during stoppage and to facilitate the operation at the time of assembly by fixing the rotating side of a reversing preventer to the rear face of a thrust disk at the bottom end of a pump shaft and disposing a freely turnable cam to the rear face thereof. CONSTITUTION:The rotating side 7 of the reversing preventer is fixed to the rear face of the disk-shaped thrust disk 3 mounted to the bottom end of the pump shaft 1 which is a vertical shaft and the freely circumferentially turnable cam 8 is disposed to the rear face of the rotating side 7. The static side 9 of the reversing preventer faces the rotating side 7 in parallel therewith and is fixed to a motor cover 6 at the bottom end of a motor casing. Said side has circumferentially saw teeth engaged with the cam 8. The cam 8 is pushed up by the fluid power of the cooling water in the motor casing and is detached from the saw teeth of the stationary side 9 so as not to hinder the rotation of the pump shaft during the forward rotation of the internal pump. The fluid power of the cooling water is lost when the internal pump stops. The same is then lowered by its own weight and is engaged with the saw teeth of the stationary side 9 by which the backward rotation of the internal pump is prohibited.
