As compared with a case connecting the conductive layers 45-48 to the bit lines 14, 42-44 on the electrically connected areas 13, 34-36, the covering property of step differences of the bit lines 14, 42-44 can be improved. As compared with a case extending the conductive layers 45-48 up to the same word lines 16, 17, the connection parts 51-54 to the bit lines 14, 42-44 are more separated from each other and the margin of patterning of the bit lines 14, 42-44 can be expanded. Consequently, the reliability of the device can be improved.
