Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the energy conversion efficiency and the generating efficiency of a wave power generating device, by a method wherein vertical movement of waves is converted into rotational movement by means of a rotary fin formed in a special shape, and the rotational movement drives a generator through the medium of a rotary shaft. CONSTITUTION:A wave power generating device 1 is used for, for example, the power source of a radio buoy. The wave power generating device comprises a generating chamber 2 positioned on a sea surface, a floating body 4 supported under a sea surface by means of a stay 3 suspended from the generating chamber 2, a rotary shaft 5 supported between the generating chamber 2 and the floating body 4, and a balancer 7 secured to a rod 6 suspended coaxially with the rotary shaft 5. In this case, a rotary fin 15 is secured on the rotary shaft 5 situated inside the floating body 4. The rotary fin 15 is formed with a plurality of arms 16 radially extended from the rotary shaft 5, and a plurality of fins 17 horizontally extended from the respective arms 16. This constitution converts vertical movement of waves into rotational movement.
