Abstract
PURPOSE:To easily and accuracy measure the backlash and torsional rigidity of a speed reducer, etc., by finding the relation between load torque and the angle of rotation of an output shaft when an input side is fixed. CONSTITUTION:The rotation of the input shaft 3 of a test body 1 is restrained by an input shaft fixing jig 5 through a coupling 4 for input shaft fixation and while the casing of the test body 1 is fixed to a support base 2, weights are mounted on weight bases 14 and 14'. Consequently, a horizontal force is applied to the wire fitting part 11a of an output shaft torque supply jig 11 through pulleys 13 and 13'. The angle of rotation of the output shaft at this time is measured by a rotary encoder 9 through couplings 7 and 8 to find the relation between the load torque and the angle of rotation of the output shaft. This characteristic curve shows that the angle alpha of play rotation of the output shaft nearby zero load torque is the backlash and the tilt angle is the torsional rigidity.
