Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable the estimation of a distance to a position of leakage of water separately from the scale of the leakage, by determining the means frequency of vibrations at a point of measurement and by making it possible to estimate the distance to a signal source therefrom. CONSTITUTION:A sound of leakage of water and noise, or vibrations due to the leakage of water and the noise, which are detected by a sensor 1, are converted into electric signals and inputted to a wave-shaping means 2. In the means 2, the amplification of the electric signals from the sensor 1 and the discrimination thereof based on crest values are conducted, and a signal having a significance as a water leakage signal is wave-shaped to be at a high level and a signal not having this significance to be at a low level, for instance. A signal continuation time integrating means 3 integrates a time wherein an input signal is at the high level, and outputs a time integration value T. A water leakage determining means 5 stores the time integration value in the state wherein no leakage of water is present, and outputs a signal of determination that the leakage of water is present, only when the time integration value T is larger than the determination reference values set respectively. A mean frequency detecting means 4 determines the mean value of signal frequencies for the whole period during which the means 3 operates.
