Abstract
PURPOSE:To receive opposite still picture data even when user is absent by adopting the constitution such that a still picture received at the time of absence mode is recorded automatically. CONSTITUTION:An absence mode control section 12 monitors the presence of a reception from an opposite telephone set and when the reception is detected, a telephone line 2 is connected to a MODEM 4 to attain a hook-off state. Then a specific oscillating tone is sent from the absence mode control section 12 via a line connection control section 1 to inform the absence mode. When a still picture data is sent form the opposite telephone set, the section 12 stores sequentially the data in the storage memory 13. If the storage memory 13 is occupied by the absence data and has no idle area, whether or not a data updating mode is selected is decided and when the mode is selected, the oldest data is erased to write the newest incoming data.
