Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the title compsn. which is capable of maintaining a persistent fragrance or a prolonged period of time and is free of swelling of dissolution by water, by emulsification dispersing a perfume in an oil gel phase formed using a particular gelling agent to thereby produce an aq. gel slurry and performing emulsification dispersion of the slurry using a particular emulsifying agent. CONSTITUTION:A fragrant gel compsn. is produced by performing a primary emulsification dispersion of a perfume in an oil gel phase formed using 12- hydroxystearic acid as a gelling agent to thereby obtain an aq. gel slurry, and then conducting a secondary emulsification dispersion of the slurry using a surfactant having an HLB value of 11 or below (e.g., sorbitan sesquioleate) as an emulsifying agent. The fragrant gel compsn. thus obtained through double emulsification permits ready control of perfume volatilization, and can maintain a persistent fragrance over a prolonged period of time without being affected by temps. Moreover, the compsn. is free of swelling or dissolution by water, so that the compsn. can be used in places where dewing or splashing of water occurs as well.
