Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce a galvanized steel tube at a low equipment cost by rationarizing and simplifying the processes on the way at the tie of forming strip steel into the tube shape, welding it to the steel tube and producing the hot dipped steel tube by a hot dip metal coating method. CONSTITUTION:The steel tube 4 is produced from the strip steel 2 fed from an un-coiler 1 by a tube forming apparatus 3 consisting of a number of forming rollers, welding machine and drawing rollers and is annealed 14 at a high temp. to remove the stress at the time of working. The cooling after the annealing is stopped at >=150 deg.C and the steel tube 4 is subjected to a flux treatment 7 in the state of >=150 deg.C high temp. to remove the oxidation film on the surface thereof and the hot dip zinc coating, etc., is applied on the steel tube by a hot dip metal coating apparatus 9. Pickling and water washing treatments become unnecessary and reheating before the hot dip metal coating treatment becomes also unnecessary by stopping the cooling after the annealing at a high temp. and immediately subjecting the steel tube to the flux treatment, by which the equipment cost, pickling, water washing cost and reheating cost become unnecessary. The steel tube 4 is cooled 10 to a room temp., is immediately straightened by a straightening apparatus 11 and is finally cut to the prescribed length, by which the hot dip metal coated steel tube 15 is produced at a low cost.
