Abstract

PURPOSE:To correct a color with the small quantity of correction data by correcting the color by the use of a three dimensional converter for correcting three primary colors and then, correcting the color corrected part of a fourth color. CONSTITUTION:Inputted density values C0, M0, Y0 are applied too a three dimensional look up table 1 to output corrected density values C1, M1, Y1. The density values C1, M1, Y1 are applied to one dimensional look up tables 4C, 4M, 4Y through adders 2C, 2M, 2Y and 3C, 3M, 3Y to output corrected density values C, M, Y respectively. An interpolating device 5 interpolates the density values C1, M1, Y1 outputted by the three dimensional look up table 1 based on the inputted density values C0, M0, Y0. A density value K0 is applied to a one dimensional look up table 6 and a corrected density value K1 is applied to one dimensional look up tables 7C, 7M, 7Y. The one dimensional look up tables 7C, 7M, 7Y corrects the output of the three dimensional look up table 1.
