Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare an oxidation compound at the α-position, useful as raw materials for α-naphthol, by the liquid-phase oxidation of tetralin in a lower satruated fatty acid or nitrile as a solvent at 30-120°C in the presence of a soluble cobalt carboxylic acid salt or nitrate.
