Abstract

PURPOSE: Yeast or microbial cells are added to an aq. solution containing a watersoluble polymer and a crosslinking agent, and the mixture is subject to crosslinking reaction under mild conditions to form a gel with said yeast or microbial cells immobilized therein and exhibiting a high activity.
